Celebrated Architect Zaha Hadid is a tour de force, both for her marked determination and signature aesthetic. Shattering the boundaries in a male-dominated field, her hard work, unrelenting perseverance, and dogged faith in the end result were the ultimate keys to success.
A recent viewing of the BBC documentary 'Zaha Hadid: Who Dares Wins' reveals a passionate woman sure of her talents. She choose to challenge convention rather than adapt to societal - or even architectural - norms. A woman patiently waiting for the world to catch up with her. Such is Hadid's forward-thinking vision.

Hadid's sculptural, fluid-like structures are truly works of art, revealing an unparalleled artistry and ability to bring abstract concepts to fruition. A perfect marriage of form and function. From a 2009 profile, 'The Abstractionist' in The New Yorker:
In all her work, Hadid is concerned with movement and speed—both the way people will move through the buildings and the way a sight line travels through light and shadow. Her exteriors seem to be shaped by the movement inside and around them, rather than by some predetermined notion of external form.
The long road to fame, fortune, and achievement was hard fought. Success came only after years of sacrifice and struggle, but when the rewards finally came, they were ever so sweet. Take a cue from her playbook - don't give up and don't be discouraged. Believe in your talents, work hard, and success will come.
With a creative spark evident at an early age, she is proof positive children must be allowed to indulge in creative impulses. Our goal is to offer gifts of such craftsmanship, beauty, and lasting value that children will learn to appreciate such qualities at any early age. To that end, we celebrate one of the creative innovators and a true original #coolcat, Zaha Hadid. And, may the next generation learn from her rich legacy.
